Ants Go Marching

Inside My Head Vidcast number 8

If you’ve been listening to the Hyper Nonsense show, you may have already heard about our latest Ant Invasion.

I hate ants! Hate, hate, hate ‘em! Not at all pleased with the ants that climbed onto our roof, and proceeded to invade down into the house from various tactical points. They’d come in, and I’d go spray them with whatever was available (often Windex, sometimes RAID), and kill them off, and they’d back off for a moment, and then return. I started plugging up the holes they were coming in at (scotch tape and/or Elmer’s glue work amazingly well), only to have them come in from another little hole, somewhere else. Many battles were fought. I’d win one, only for the war between me and the ants to develop on a new front.

Finally, I’d had enough, and it was time to step up the chemical warfare aspect of this war a little more. I’d heard about a wonderful ant killer called “AntRid” (I think), from the wonderful guys at Erk Pod. They said it worked great, and I even watched a video on YouTube showing somebody using the stuff. This would have been the ideal solution, if only “AntRid” (I think it was called), was available in America. Seems to be an Austrailian brand, that I had no way to get a hold of.

Desperate to finally win this war against the ants, I selected the ant poison that looked the closest to what I figured “AntRid” to be. There was this stuff called “TERRO” that was also a liquid form of ant bait.

How did it work? Check out the results for yourself:

I still have some left over, waiting for the next battle for the Mobile Home to begin!
