Unemployed

Inside My Head Podcast number 93

I am unemployed, but you knew that. I’m in my second week of unemployment, and so far it is strange. Listen to this episode to find out why I feel like losing this job is similar to breaking up with someone.

Today’s Haiku of Frustration is called “I Searched”. Add your own Haiku of Frustration about whatever is bugging you at Haiku of Frustration dot com

Need more haiku? You can still get my book :Haiku of Frustration: Wage Slave, the first book I ever published. It’s got 98 little haiku about the frustrations of working in retail hell, and it’s pocket sized! Think of it as the Wage Slave’s Book of Psalms!

Music in today’s show by:
* Theory In Motion, with a song called “Money”.

* Kindred Souls, with a song called “Can’t Make It Rain”.

* The Radiant, with a song called “Say You Will”.
Here is the video for “Say You Will”:

Podcasts Promos I played in today’s show :

*Echo Romeo Kilo One One – Erk’s ambient noise podcast

* Angel Between The Lines – First episode out right now! Don’t miss this if you like vampires, or the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel series.
Also, I have a teeny tiny part in this episode (that you likely won’t be able to easily hear).

I also mentioned these podcasts:

* Wasting Time Podcast – with Richard Jeffries

* All Things Azeroth – Your World of Warcraft Podcast! Come say hello to me in the live chat room at Stickam dot com on Monday nights! I promise to say hello.

Check in to Inside My Head next week, to see if being unemployed has made me lose my mind yet.

  1. When I heard the start of your show, I thought I had accidentally listened to my show. It’s not often that I hear that song anywhere but as my intro. The last time I heard it on a different show was on ErkFM.

Sorry to hear that your job search isn’t going well.I’m not surprised. I have a few family members that are teachers. One lost his job & luckily was able to find a high school where he got a few classes, but not full time. The other came out of school and has been unable to get anything, but a substitute position. It’s an even tougher time to be a teacher than it was before. I hope you find something soon.

  2. Oops. Where I said intro, I meant to say outro. And now that I think of it, I think Erk only played my show’s intro. I think I need to get more sleep.

  3. Hey Jen, thanks for playing my Echo promo. Echo tends to be the forgotten child of Channel Erk sometimes, even by me. I recorded 2 episodes on the weekend using a new setup using my iPhone and it was a lot of fun playing tourist in my own city. And now that summer is coming here and I now know I don’t need to carry a mic and the taser around with me, I can do more Echo Romeo Kilo’ing.

Keep positive, keep smiling and keep laughing during your job hunt!

  4. Hi Jen! Sorry to hear about your job loss.

I’m doing NaPodPoMo for my first time this year, in which I’m practicing answering typical interview questions. Check it out if you’d like!
