Ants Go Marching

Inside My Head Vidcast number 8

If you’ve been listening to the Hyper Nonsense show, you may have already heard about our latest Ant Invasion.

I hate ants! Hate, hate, hate ‘em! Not at all pleased with the ants that climbed onto our roof, and proceeded to invade down into the house from various tactical points. They’d come in, and I’d go spray them with whatever was available (often Windex, sometimes RAID), and kill them off, and they’d back off for a moment, and then return. I started plugging up the holes they were coming in at (scotch tape and/or Elmer’s glue work amazingly well), only to have them come in from another little hole, somewhere else. Many battles were fought. I’d win one, only for the war between me and the ants to develop on a new front.

Finally, I’d had enough, and it was time to step up the chemical warfare aspect of this war a little more. I’d heard about a wonderful ant killer called “AntRid” (I think), from the wonderful guys at Erk Pod. They said it worked great, and I even watched a video on YouTube showing somebody using the stuff. This would have been the ideal solution, if only “AntRid” (I think it was called), was available in America. Seems to be an Austrailian brand, that I had no way to get a hold of.

Desperate to finally win this war against the ants, I selected the ant poison that looked the closest to what I figured “AntRid” to be. There was this stuff called “TERRO” that was also a liquid form of ant bait.

How did it work? Check out the results for yourself:

I still have some left over, waiting for the next battle for the Mobile Home to begin!

Inside My Head show number 63

I got to spend some time with friends recently, both in person, and through the internet. Wish I had more time to do that.

Today’s Haiku of Frustration is called: “Oh, Garageband”, and was inspired, on the fly, by the problems that the Garageband software I use to record my podcast was giving me as I tried to record this show. I wont today’s battle, but, I’m somehow certain the war isn’t over.

Music by:
Scott Goldstone, with a song called “Lovelight”
Amber Gougis , with a song called “I’m Comin’ Up”.
Ammp , with a song called “Ironman”.

Shout outs to fellow podcasters:
Hyper Nonsense Podcast As I type this today, there is still time to enter the “Christmas in July” contest.

Manic

Inside My Head Podcast number 62. Yes, I did say it was show number 61 on the podcast, but, I was wrong. This is exactly why Shawno is in charge of the checking account. I screw up numbers.

It’s “Marvelously Manic”!

Check out what Colin, from The Ourobouros Podcast said about me, and my show! ;)

Today’s Haiku of Frustration is called: “Aggravation” , and, of course, relates to my job.

Want more Haiku about Retail Hell? Well then, Haiku of Frustration: Wage Slave is the book for you!

Today’s show includes an episode of “Messages for Vanya”

Music by:
A. Rex , with a song called “Too Smart For Me”. This is one of my favorite bands!

Donora , with a song called “Shh”.
Here is the PostSecret video that uses their song:

Nabaztag Sings

So, since Podpress hasn’t bothered to fix whatever it is that is wrong with it, I still cannot get my previous podcast to actually sit on this site, nice and pretty. Which means that if I was going to do another podcast, that one won’t appear on this site where I want it to, either. Technology is damned frustrating! I mean, it all worked just fine, before the upgrade!

I’m thinking that the problem here isn’t my fault. Which means that i can’t fix it. And so, I wait. Which I am just terrible at doing. Fix it now, damn it! It’s been at least a week. What, exactly, do the Tech Gurus at Podpress do , anyway?

So, for this week, I’m attempting to work around the problem by posting a video instead. It’s short and sweet. Well, not exactly “sweet”, I suppose. ;)

Now, if that video doesn’t appear, it means the YouTube is down. Which, with my luck, will, in fact, happen. *Sigh*

With luck, the problem will be fixed by next week, and then I can start posting actual shows again. Until then.. the best I can do is collect up stuff to put in future shows, and make little videos. And rant!

I am on vacation this week. Which means I have actually gone outside, and done stuff “in real life” with Shawno. So nice to have time to do that. My next vacation will be….. sometime in April of 2009. Yeah, I wish I was only kidding about that.

Today’s Haiku of Frustration is called : “Disappeared”. For once, it’s about technology hating me, instead of me hating my job.

You can still get yourself a copy of Haiku of Frustration: Wage Slave if you haven’t already done so. It’s cute, it’s fun, it’s pocket-sized!

Today’s episode includes “Messages for Vanya”. This one is even recorded in a way that makes it actually listenable. If you like these little bunny message mixes, let me know. For that matter, if you absolutely hate ‘em, let me know that too.

Back Again

Inside My Head Vidcast 6

Not too long ago, I was coming home from work, and driving through the maze of orange cones the construction crew had set up. They are still working on my street, (and very likely will be until sometime in November). When I got home, and parked my car, this video is what I saw on the street right outside my house.

The construction crew is getting used to me. As soon as I got out there, I heard one guy yell : “Hey! She’s taping! She’s taping” Another guy waved “hello” as he passed by. A third guy yelled : “Hey! Can we get a copy of that!” I, of course, nodded my head and yelled back : “It’ll be on Youtube”. It is the third guy you see waving at the camera at the start of this video.

It has taken me a while to get around to putting together this video. I decided that today was an appropriate time to get it done for a few reasons. I just had another round of dental work done on Thursday, (a few days ago), and I figured out when Shawno and I recorded the newest episode of Hyper Nonsense earlier that it hurt to talk. So, I didn’t really think I had the energy to do a regular Inside My Head podcast episode tonight. Also, I was putting this video together on the Fourth of July. Nothing says “summer” and “America” more than road work, right?

Enjoy.

WoW, What a Name!

Inside My Head Vidcast #5

In case you didn’t already know, I am one of the many, many, many people who plays World Of Warcraft. (If you play too, and want to know what servers I’m on, send me an email.). I always struggle when it is time to name my new characters. What should I call this one? For me, this is a tough decision.

I have searched, but there aren’t too many sources to help someone find a good name. So, to fill that void, I created a short, but informative, video, as a guide to finding the perfect name for your World of Warcraft characters.

Enjoy! ;)

Dancing Octopus

Inside My Head Vidcast #4

We went to Monterey, to celebrate my 35th birthday, and to check out Monterey Aquarium. It was there that I met the Dancing Octopus.

Ok… so, he probally wasn’t actually “dancing”. But, inside my head, that’s exactly what he was doing.

Enjoy!
