Not In Retail Hell

Inside My Head Podcast number 3.27 for NaPodPoMo 2009.

This is the first “holiday season” in at least four or five years where I am NOT stuck working as a wage slave in “retail hell”. Usually, I have been stuck working today, the worst day of the year to be a wage slave, the infamous Black Friday. It’s quite nice to NOT be in retail hell this year.

I talk about the differences I’ve noticed in my life between this year and last year at this time. It was easy to spot the differences, once Shawn and I ventured into “The Evil Bookstore” to do a little bit of Christmas shopping.

That was the inspiration for a short rant, and, Today’s Haiku of Frustration. It’s called “Bad Vibes”.

I played a song by Universal Poplab, with a song called “I Could Say I’m Sorry”.

Inside My Head podcast number Eighty Six

Lots of things are changing right now!

Change number One: California courts decided to continue to ban same sex marriage. Needless to say, I am irate and disappointed about this decision. You can hear more about what I think about this in today’s episode.
*Here is the article I was reading from on today’s show.

*This is where you can watch a video that shows the rally that Shawno and I went to.

* Wanna know more about the rally? click here for photos, and audio recorded by Shawno.

Change number Two: I had a birthday!
Big, big “Thank you” to all my Twitter friends who sent birthday tweets!
Each of you got a quick shout out in today’s show.

Want to know more details about how I celebrated my birthday?
* Details here.
* Photos here.

Music in today’s show by:

* Universal Poplab , with a song called “Fame and Hate”. You can also find them on Myspace.
I first heard this song on Ourobouros.

* The Upset Victory, with a song called “The Will” and another song called “Signals”.

Great comment from Nathan Lott. You can hear me read it on the show. Very detailed!

Today’s Haiku of Frustration is called: What I Need, and you can read it at Haiku of Frustration dot com. Feel free to add your own haiku about whatever is frustrating you!

Need more haiku? Haiku of Frustration: Wage Slave is available at lulu.com. Now, with improved paper!
Or, now you can also buy it here. I’m as amazed as you are about that.

ch-ch-ch-ch- Changes!

I am on vacation this week. Which means I have actually gone outside, and done stuff “in real life” with Shawno. So nice to have time to do that. My next vacation will be….. sometime in April of 2009. Yeah, I wish I was only kidding about that.

Today’s Haiku of Frustration is called : “Disappeared”. For once, it’s about technology hating me, instead of me hating my job.

You can still get yourself a copy of Haiku of Frustration: Wage Slave if you haven’t already done so. It’s cute, it’s fun, it’s pocket-sized!

Today’s episode includes “Messages for Vanya”. This one is even recorded in a way that makes it actually listenable. If you like these little bunny message mixes, let me know. For that matter, if you absolutely hate ‘em, let me know that too.
